In this paper, the authors focus on a study that was aimed at exploring the experience and understanding of gender and age in higher education by employees in order to determine whether women in higher education experienced the influence of lookism. This article uses survey statistics of 48 employees according to gender. The study shows that men perceive women teachers as unappealing, as well as many women work in an academic sphere because of their unattractiveness:"Non‐academics see academics as being career driven by their lack of attractiveness and or poor appearance". In other words, women think, since their appearance does not correspond to the average ideal, then the can't find a prestigious job in a large company. However, young women teachers downplay their appearance, because they believe that they have a lot of flaws. This is the first study that shows that female scientists are dissatisfied with their appearance.
